With minimal process, applying low fermentation and a low temperature without roasting to maintain the purity and quality of the product.

It is cultivated by small farmer co-operatives that support social responsibility. Criollo variety means the plant is not a hybrid and produces high quality beans with excellent flavour and aroma.

Ceremonial grade cacao is 100% pure cacao with no additions, no chemicals, and no loss of quality.

It's a powerful plant medicine which is a superfood with many benefits including focus, creativity, health benefits, productivity and can enhance physical training like exercise.

'It is a alchemical powerhouse, a rainforest gifted bundle of nutrition and neurochemical magic'. Keith Wilson

Using cacao daily will help you receive the desired benefits whether they are physical, mental or spiritual. When you are consistent with it's use, you will feel more grounded, focused and connected. Cacao can be drunk or added to food and is an excellent alternative to coffee.

Contra indications

Ceremonial cacao is generally safe, but its high, concentrated dose of theobromine and tyramine means it can trigger headaches, nausea, or dizziness in some people. It is strongly contraindicated for those on MAOI antidepressants, people with serious heart conditions or low blood pressure, and often recommended against during pregnancy, as it can cause rapid heart rate and lower blood pressure.
Key Contraindications & Considerations:
  • Antidepressants (MAOIs & SSRIs): MAOI-based antidepressants are a major contraindication with the tyramine in cacao. For SSRIs, high doses of cacao can increase serotonin, potentially causing serotonin syndrome, so a lower dose (10-15g) or caution is advised.
  • Heart Conditions & Blood Pressure: Due to its stimulant effects, those with serious heart conditions, very high blood pressure, or low blood pressure should consult a doctor. It acts as a vasodilator, reducing blood pressure and increasing heart rate.
  • Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Due to theobromine (a stimulant), it is generally advised to reduce or cut out ceremonial cacao (high dosage) and instead use smaller doses (10–15g) to avoid overstimulation for the baby.
  • Allergies & Sensitivities: Those sensitive to histamine or caffeine may experience skin rashes, headaches, or anxiety.
  • Medication Interaction: It may increase the effect of blood thinners, increasing the risk of bruising/bleeding.
Ceremonial cacao is a potent vasodilator and contains flavonoids that can act as mild natural anticoagulants. Combining it with pharmaceutical blood thinners (e.g., Warfarin/Coumadin, Aspirin) increases the risk of excessive bleeding, bruising, or slowed blood clotting. Individuals on these medications should consult a doctor and consider avoiding high, ceremonial doses.
Key Contraindications with Blood Thinners:
  • Increased Bleeding Risk: Because both cacao and pharmaceutical blood thinners inhibit platelet aggregation, the combination may lead to a higher risk of bleeding, particularly in cases of injuries or surgeries.
  • Reduced Effectiveness of Medication: Cacao can interact with anticoagulants, potentially altering their effectiveness, requiring medical supervision to ensure safety.
  • Blood Pressure Interactions: Cacao lowers blood pressure. If your blood thinner is part of a regimen that also manages blood pressure, this can cause excessive hypotension (very low blood pressure).
  • Other: It is not recommended for those with epilepsy.
Safety Guidelines:
  • Start Small: If new to cacao, start with a 10-15g dose to gauge your sensitivity rather than a full 40g+ ceremony dose.
  • Avoid Stacking Stimulants: Do not mix with coffee, guarana, or other stimulants to avoid dizziness or heart palpitations.
  • Hydrate: Ensure you drink plenty of water before and after consumption.
